(AP) — Eduardo Rodriguez allowed two runs and four hits over seven dominant innings, Miguel Cabrera drove in the go-ahead run and the Detroit Tigers held on through a nervy ninth for a 3-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night.Rodriguez (6-5) needed just 37 pitches to cut through the Kansas City lineup once, and the left-hander still had not allowed a hit until Matt Duffy’s one-out single in the fifth. DENVER (KDVR) – A pair of local firefighters is just back from the war zone in Ukraine, where the skills they use on the job every day in Colorado were put to use training Ukrainian first responders.“How many times do we sit back and say 'oh I’d love to help' and then we don’t actually do anything,” Jennah Marsh told FOX31.Marsh and her husband Ross were part of a team from Project Victory, a nonprofit started by Marine Corps veteran Jared Malone. The charity’s mission is to provide food, shelter, medical supplies and other essentials to people in the war-torn country.They traveled through Poland and into Kiev, Ukraine, where they worked with the national police and others. CU chemists say dissolving plastic with electricity could be future of recycling

DENVER (KDVR) -- Chemists at the University of Colorado in Boulder have developed a new way to recycle plastic using electricity.The researchers found a way to deconstruct the molecular analogs of the common plastic polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, into their molecular components, according to a study published earlier this month in the Chem Catalysis journal. Did CSU researchers just find the oldest-known case of cannibalism? PET is found in everyday products like soda and water bottles and polyester fabrics.
