SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A pilot accused of threatening to shoot a commercial airline captain who wanted to divert a flight to get medical attention for a passenger was set to make his first federal court appearance Thursday.Former Delta Air Lines pilot Jonathan J. Dunn was indicted by a grand jury Oct. 18 and charged with interfering with a flight crew during a trip from Atlanta to Salt Lake City in August 2022. Dunn, who was the first officer, or co-pilot, threatened to shoot the captain during a heated argument in the cockpit over whether to change course to accommodate a passenger’s medical issue.The captain had proposed diverting to Grand Junction, Colorado, if the passenger’s condition worsened, the U.S. Attorney’s Office alleges in court documents. Dunn objected and threatened multiple times to shoot the captain, whom he accused of “going crazy,” the documents state. (KRON) -- The NFL announced the rosters for the Pro Bowl on Wednesday, and the San Francisco 49ers will be well represented. Nine 49ers were named to the NFC's Pro Bowl roster, led by quarterback Brock Purdy, who received more votes than any other NFL player. Purdy, who helped the 49ers to a No. 1 seed in his first full season as a starter, received 451,864 fan votes. Running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle were No. 2 and No. 4 on that list. Both were named to the roster. Los Altos Christmas day fire still under investigation, part of El Camino Real remains closed

(BCN) -- Santa Clara County Fire Department officials said they are still investigating a three-alarm fire that occurred in Los Altos on Christmas Day.Around 4:50 a.m. on Dec. 25, crews were alerted to reports of smoke coming from a commercial structure located at 4600 El Camino Real in Los Altos. Along with the Mountain View Fire Department, county firefighters responded to the area and found heavy smoke coming from the first floor of a two-story, 20,000-square-foot commercial building. Around 5:10 a.m., a second alarm was called, with additional firefighting resources and manpower arriving. They then entered the building to both fight the fire and confirm there was no one inside in need of rescue, the county's fire department said.At 5:22 a.m., a third alarm was called and the Mountain View Fire Department and Palo Alto Fire Department sent additional resources. Person killed by car doing doughnuts in Oakland identified

(BCN) -- A woman who was fatally struck by a vehicle doing doughnuts in Oakland early on New Year's Day was identified by the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau as Antoinette Matthews, a 23-year-old Stockton resident. Matthews was on the sidewalk at the intersection of International Boulevard and 42nd Avenue when the vehicle jumped the curb at about 12:45 a.m. Monday and hit her. Oakland police were alerted to the collision after Matthews was taken to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. The driver fled the scene after the collision. An Oakland police spokesperson said Wednesday that the collision remained under investigation. Woman fatally struck on I-880 identified

(BCN) -- A woman who was struck by a vehicle while running through traffic on Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland last week was identified by the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau as Camilla Dayanna Sanchez, a 22-year-old Oakland resident. Sanchez was hit in the fast lane on northbound Highway 880 at High Street at about 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 after the California Highway Patrol received several calls about a person apparently running erratically in the roadway. The driver of the pickup truck that struck her stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation, according to the CHP. The fatal collision is being investigated by the CHP.
