2 Iron Range police officers injured in fire; apparently suicidal man dies

VIRGINIA, Minn. — Two Virginia police offers were injured early Thanksgiving Day in a structure fire that claimed the life of an apparently suicidal man, according to a release from the Iron Range city’s police department.Officers were dispatched at about 4:55 a.m. Thursday to respond to a man threatening to burn down a building with himself inside. When they arrived, they found the apartment on fire, and officers could not persuade the individual to leave the building before the structure was engulfed in flames. The man was later located deceased inside the apartment.One of the two officers was treated for smoke inhalation and released, but the other suffered severe burns to multiple parts of his body.Fire departments from Virginia, Mountain Iron, Fayal and Gilbert, as well as the Eveleth EMS and the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department assisted on the scene.The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and state fire marshal’s office are investigating the incide...

Protest outside Israel lobbyist’s Brentwood home being investigated as possible hate crime

Hamas is set to exchange more hostages for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel

One person dead, one injured in San Francisco shooting

(KRON) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting that occurred in San Francisco on Saturday.  San Francisco police officers responded to the 400 block of Turk Street on a report of shots fired around 4:18 a.m. on Nov. 25.  According to police, dispatch officers were alerted that two subjects were reportedly shooting at one another.  Arrest led to suspect kicking officer in the face in San Rafael Upon arrival, officers located two individuals suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both suspects were transported to a local hospital. One of the suspects was pronounced dead at the hospital. Opponents campaign to halt expansion of Santa Rita Jail

Md. AG investigating Baltimore Co. police after fatal exchange of gunfire

Baltimore County Police shot and killed a Parkville, Maryland, man Friday night after responding to reports of a domestic disturbance.Maryland’s Attorney General is investigating the officer-involved shooting.Early reports from the Independent Investigations Division within Attorney General Anthony Brown’s office said police heard gunfire and a woman screaming as they arrived at 11:33 p.m.As they approached the home, a man opened the door and fired at the officers.Three officers returned fire and killed the man. When the officers entered the home, the woman was found dead.The attorney general’s office will generally release the names of the officers and people involved in the incident within two days.Officers on the scene were wearing body cameras and the video is currently being reviewed. KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia on Saturday morning launched its most intense drone attack on Ukraine since the beginning of its full-scale invasion in 2022, targeting the Ukrainian capital, military officials said. In total, Russia launched 75 Iranian-made Shahed drones against Ukraine, of which 74 were destroyed by air defenses, Ukraine’s air force said.“Kyiv was the main target,” Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk wrote on his Telegram channel.
