I like almost everything the Dolphins have done in this early part of the offseason.The blockbuster acquisitions of defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and All Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey are seismic activities. The Dolphins, led by general manager Chris Grier and coach Mike McDaniel, scored in a major way with both of those moves.I’m not, however, a big fan of a couple of the Dolphins’ other offseason actions through this first week of free agency, specifically at backup quarterback and running back.Still, right now, you’d have to say the Dolphins’ offseason has been a rousing success.Much more work remains, most notably at offensive line.But the starting lineups on both sides of the ball are nearly complete save for perhaps left guard, right tackle and one of the two safety positions.On Friday, Miami grabbed former All-Pro Patriots punter Jake Bailey while seeing Thomas Morstead head to the New York Jets.For the most part, the rest of the offseason is about ac...

Colton Cowser didn’t need to eat Wheaties on Friday morning to power the 476-foot home run he smashed against the Minnesota Twins.“I had the same breakfast per usual,” Cowser said. “I usually just go with some French toast, avocado, some bacon. I actually had a hard-boiled egg this morning. Dolphins re-signing River Cracraft to receiving corps

The Miami Dolphins are bringing back wide receiver River Cracraft for the 2023 season.Cracraft is returning on a one-year deal, according to a league source.In his first season with the Dolphins, Cracraft set career highs with 11 games played, 14 targets, nine receptions, 102 yards and two touchdowns. He began the season as a practice squad player that was elevated for Miami’s first three games before earning a full-time spot on the active roster the rest of the year.Cracraft rejoins a receiving corps that is led by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and added former UM standout and ex-New York Jet Braxton Berrios on Thursday. Miami also has Cedrick Wilson Jr. and second-year player Erik Ezukanma under contract, along with Freddie Swain and Braylon Sanders. Bodycam video shows shooting involving deputy in East County

EL CAJON, Calif. -- The San Diego County Sheriff's Department on Friday released body-worn video of a shooting involving law enforcement that wounded a man in El Cajon.The shooting occurred last Thursday on 1100 Oro Street, where authorities initially responded to a Toyota truck that had been reported stolen from Alpine earlier in the day, according to Lt. Adam Sharki with the San Diego Police Department.When deputies approached the truck, they saw a man next to the passenger side and another in the driver's seat, authorities said. Law enforcement shouted out several commands at the driver for him to get out of the vehicle, but he refused, per police. The suspect, identified as Brenten Kinzenbaw of Alpine, put the vehicle in reverse and accelerated, hitting a parked vehicle and then drove forward quickly, almost striking the pedestrian before crashing into a patrol vehicle, Sharki said. Data breach impacts UC San Diego Health scheduling site

SAN DIEGO -- University of California, San Diego Health experienced a data breach involving its scheduling for their Urgent Care and Express Care clinics, officials said.The health organization's technology vendor, Solv Health, used analytic tools without the school's authorization, it was stated in a news release Thursday."The analytics tools they used on the scheduling websites captured and transmitted information to their third-party service providers," the release stated.Those who used the scheduling website to book appointments for in-person or video visits at the care facilities between Sept. 13 and Dec. 22, 2022, may have had their first and last name, date of birth, email address, IP address, third-party cookies, reason for visit, and insurance type (e.g., PPO, HMO, Other) captured by the analytics tools and transmitted to their third-party service providers, according to the health system. TTC to shut down significant portion of Line 1 subway on Saturday

Transit riders will have to find an alternative method of transportation on Saturday due to a significant subway closure. The TTC says trains will not be running on Line 1 between York Mills and Bloor-Yonge stations due to track repairs and work being done on the Automatic Train Control signal system.
